Junior Product Specialist – Portfolio Manager

Overview: A global financial house is looking for a junior product specialist to support and provide detailed research and analysis to the sales teams within the EMEA region.

Company: Our client is a well established global financial services company who provide in-depth information, research and analytics to various institutions, buy side firms and corporations. Our client offers a vast array of research and information based applications on a bespoke service, providing clients with information tools that address their needs.

Role: • Act as a product specialist and assist sales by performing installations, template-building, query-building, data research, training and support to new and prospective clients. • Provide continuous support to clients in the use of products, ensuring that their specific data and application needs are addressed and that they receive maximum value from their use of those products. • Obtaining and organizing information about each client’s application, their hardware/software/network configuration, and keeping records of installation and support activities to ensure that a knowledge base of success/shortfall is maintained as a resource for future activities. • Gather intelligence and communicate internally to identify opportunities to contribute to revenue retention and growth. Present feedback on product needs to Product Development, data teams, and other relevant departments.

Skills required: • Minimum 2:1 degree in a discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology or equivalent experience is required. • IMC qualification or CFA charterholder/candidature is a plus. • A strong understanding of fundamental data is necessary. • High-level mathematical and analytical capabilities. • An understanding of quantitative techniques such as backtesting. • Formal training and/or experience in personal computer diagnostics, hardware/software problem-solving techniques (in both local & network environments), and support processes. • Highly proficient in Excel and VBA (desirable).
